Overview

ITS resells Pharos Uniprint in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America and aims to provide a total solution to meet your organisation’s requirements. Our systems start from software only print management solutions built around Pharos Uniprint and grow to unified print and copy systems through the addition of the Pharos Off-The-Glass (OTG) module. ITS can also provide support for hardware-based cash acceptors and web-payment whilst working alongside our market-leading PC Booking system ITS:MyPC .

Pharos Uniprint allows public libraries to track, control and optionally charge for the printing and copying performed by both library members and staff. The implementation of a solution reduces paper and toner waste, cuts costs, reduces the impact of your organisation’s paper output on the environment and makes both end-users, be they library members or staff more accountable. Pharos Uniprint provides access to detailed reports that allow you to make the correct policy and purchasing decisions. Pharos Uniprint can operate in most networking environments including those that use library management systems, PC Booking systems, Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, RM or LDAP for authentication with full pop-up messaging support on both Windows and Mac clients.

How can Pharos Uniprint benefit my library?

  • Pharos Uniprint allows you to track printing and copying from virtually any printer, copier or multi-functional device (MFD) ensuring that all paper output in your organisation is transparent and totally measurable.
  • Pharos Uniprint ensures that nothing is printed or copied until payment has been made totally eliminating unclaimed print and copy jobs.
  • A system of pop-up messages on public access computers ensures that library members are aware of print costs before they decide to submit their print job – minimising the possibilities of surprises and disputes when payment is required.
  • Pharos Uniprint monitors the printing and copying of every user on your network ensuring that both library members and staff are fully accountable for their actions.
  • Pharos Uniprint includes an optional system of user balances allowing your library to control and limit the amount of printing and copying that library members and staff can perform, reducing waste and dramatically cutting costs.
  • Pharos Uniprint features rules that can be implemented to cancel or restrict jobs that are sent to inappropriate print devices, regulating the print process and helping to cut costs.
  • Pharos Uniprint reduces paper output waste and helps ensure that the appropriate print device is used assisting your library to meet its environmental obligations central to today’s green agenda.
  • Pharos Uniprint can accommodate automated cash payment options so that user’s balances can be topped-up without the constant involvement of library staff allowing them to focus on core activities. Click here to find out more.
  • ITS offer an online payment module Indigo that allows credit and debit cards or even PayPal accounts to be utilised reducing the dependence on cash, which in turn reduces staff involvement with cash collection and security.
  • Pharos Uniprint can work alongside a system of wireless printing which allows users to print from laptops, PDAs and smart phones via your wireless network without the need to install software or printer drivers hence ensuring inclusivity of print service provision for all users.
  • Pharos Uniprint fits right in with your existing networking infrastructure through its usage of familiar Microsoft technologies including Windows Server and Microsoft SQL.
  • Pharos Uniprint keeps your end-users happy and well informed about their print activities via its pop-up messages that offer the same functionality regardless of whether people are using Windows or Mac clients.

Key Features

  • Pop-up messages that communicate with the user informing them of the number of pages of their print job, its cost and asking them if they wish to continue which provide the same experience on both Windows and Mac clients.

  • An optional system of balances or quotas used to monitor or control the amount of printing or copying.
