B-Wireless offers an all-in-one solution for setting up and managing a system of Hotspots that is ideal for public libraries, universities, colleges, schools, hotels or any institution that wants to offer wireless Internet access to their users and guests.

The End User Experience
For the user logging on to the system the experience could not be simpler; the user powers up their device and is presented with the option of connecting to the network. Once connected, when they open their web browser they are redirected to a configurable captive portal, which can be customised to display your organisation’s logos and recommended web links. The user is then prompted to logon or make payment. Only after successful logon is the user able to surf the Internet, while advanced session management allows your organisation to stipulate how long users can stay on line, how many sessions they can have and how much data they are permitted to download.

Authentication
B Wireless can authenticate end-users against Active Directory, LDAP (including Novell eDirectory), the internal B Wireless database and ODBC-compliant third-party systems including the leading library management systems. B Wireless can also query users’ logon credentials against third-party systems that feature a web-based logon interface if required.

  

Administration and Reports
B Wireless offers web-based, centralised administration from both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox and allows administrators to generate detailed usage reports and statistics in real time which are presented as graphs illustrating peak session times, users who have accessed the service and how much time has been spent online. Administrators can even schedule these reports to be delivered to designated email addresses on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Policies can be applied to ensure fair usage including configurable limits on data uploaded and downloaded, the number of sessions a user is allowed in a given period and limits on session time.

Payment Module
The optional B Wireless payment module allows administrators to have full control over who is charged for access to the B Wireless Hotspot and who is not. For example, administrators can provide free Internet access to members of their organisation whilst charging external users via the sale of temporary, time-limited login cards or by enabling a system of web-based credit or debit card charging on the B Wireless logon screen.

Setup and Configuration
The B Wireless hub is simply plugged into a spare network point and is powered by the existing network via Power over Ethernet (PoE) eliminating the need for expensive network and electric cabling in hard to wire locations. The Hub is of a compact size with a swivel antenna requiring limited space whilst offering coverage of up to a 30m radius. Authentication, accounting and session management is performed by the B Wireless server which is an ISP-grade Radius server designed to run on familiar Windows server platforms. Added Value from ITS
Purchasing a Hotspot solution from ITS gives access to a dedicated support team who have been supporting software used in education, public libraries and the corporate sector since 1988. Communication is not limited to e-mail and there is no limit on the number of support calls that can be logged in any given year. As part of your support and maintenance contract ITS will provide e-mail, telephone and remote access support. Where we cannot resolve issues through these means ITS will send an engineer onsite to attempt to resolve any outstanding issues at no additional charge. ITS strives to actively improve its software and welcomes comments and suggestions from all its customers.

Wireless Printing?
PrinterOn is a completely wireless printing solution from ITS. There is no need for any cables, or to install any printer drivers, you simply follow a link and print whatever you need. Being web based you can even send print jobs from home, to be collected later if necessary. PrinterOn seamlessly integrates with B Wireless to offer a complete wireless experience for the user. If you wish to charge the user for printing PrinterOn can integrate with your existing Print Management system or one can be supplied by ITS to meet your requirements.
